We are delighted to introduce the very first edition of the Caritas Group Practice Newsletter. Our aim is simple: to keep you updated, informed, and connected with everything happening across our three surgeries—Woodside, Mixenden Stones, and Shelf Health Centre.

Healthcare is about more than just appointments—it’s about building a community of care. Through this newsletter, you’ll find:

· NHS National Health campaigns that matter to you

This September, the focus nationally is on “Know Your Numbers!”—the UK’s biggest blood pressure awareness campaign. High blood pressure affects 1 in 4 adults and often has no symptoms, yet it can lead to heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. Throughout the month we’ll be highlighting resources, running checks, and sharing practical advice to help you and your loved ones stay heart-healthy.

As part of the North Halifax Primary Care Network, we work closely with other local practices to bring you more services—like physiotherapy, social prescribing, and extended access appointments. We’ll be highlighting these in upcoming issues so you know exactly what’s available to you.

Above all, this newsletter is for you, our patients. We’d love to hear your ideas, feedback, and stories that could help us make each edition more useful and relevant.
